Piano Etudes Competitions
The CAPMT Piano Etudes Competition started in 2018 and was created with a pedagogical purpose: to expand the knowledge of piano technique and musical expression through etudes and to captivate the students’ growth of learning to systematic piano technique.
Our competition was recently divided in three:
A non-competitive event, called The Rising Star Event, meant to encourage the learning of piano etudes and develop their love for performing and participating in events.
The second event, our The Original Piano Etudes Competition, is highly competitive. The etudes selected in the guidelines are organized according to the level difficulty by age, with pedagogical reasoning in mind.
The third event, The Young Artist Competition, is the most competitive of all, student will enter a category according to their age group but they could perform any etude of their choosing, allowing the student to perform highly demanding etudes at any age.
Winners of competitive events will be invited to perform one piece selected by the judge in the Winners’ Concert.
The competitions will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Hoson House, located at 1961 Irvine Blvd., Tustin 92780.
Registration opens on Monday, May 5, 2025.
Registration closes on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at 11:59pm.
